English information

The Outdoor School: Dalane Outdoor Council organizes the Outdoor School, which is an activity program for children and young people aged 9-13. We have great nature, and we want to inspire children and young people to have a close and good relationship with nature. Through various activities, travel and experiences, we want to give them an understanding of nature's uniqueness and tolerance limits.

Time-related and practical framework: The outdoor school is a 4 days offer for children and young people in the municipality and will take place in various natural environments.. Friluftskolen consistently has three main themes in its curriculum. There is a focus on the right to roam . Furthermore, emphasis is placed on knowledge of orientation and the use of maps and compasses, and how to find, prepare and take care of a rest and camp site.

Daily plans and the content of the lessons: The outdoor school this year has room for 30 participants. For the most part, the teaching will take place together, but on certain occasions we will divide the participants into smaller groups.

We know that the weather conditions in Western Norway are shifting, and that wind and precipitation can come at regular intervals. The daily program must be flexible so that we can change and have alternative solutions if the weather conditions become too difficult.

Price and registration: The registration fee is free. Supported by Gjensigestiftelsen

A maximum of 20 children, so here it is first come, first served! Registration is binding.

We reserve the right to cancel schools if there are too few registrants
